Howdy folks, I hope you’re having a good holiday weekend. I have been cooking, beyond writing, but now, I’m popping in here with my guest, Deborrah Girard with introducing her new novel, a holiday romance entitled Grinch Be A Lady. It looks like it’s perfect for the holidays. Let’s see what it’s about, shall we?
GRINCH BE A LADY
A sweet romance

BLURB:
Christmas is the time of year for friendships, family and acquaintances, but for Lisa Hart, it’s none of those things. ‘All work and no play’ – her self-preserving motto ever since her cancer diagnosis and her relationship with Thorn, the boss’s son, went west.
When Thorn Abbott returns to oversee the company while his mom and dad vacation for the winter, he’s met with Lisa’s cold shoulder and spiritless attitude. Keeping his own secrets in check while trying to discover hers proves to be complex. He opts to bring back a full month of Christmas activities to lighten the mood and ween Lisa out of her shell.
Can he and his Christmas cheer woo her all over again? Can he bring back her sparkle and enthusiasm, or has he lost his Christmas angel forever?
EXCERPT
“Lisa, loosen up a little. It’s December. You are part of the staff here and you need to be part of the fun. Instead of sticking out like a sore thumb, take part in the silliness.”
“You admit it’s silly.” With a chilling look, she walked past him toward her chair.
He held open the T-shirt so she could read the caption. “This isn’t so bad, is it?”
“Ladies need to have Christmas fun,” she read, tilting her head to one side. “And Christmas cheer.”
“What do you think?”
She stared at him unwaveringly as she waited for him to move to the other side of her desk. “It’s…not so bad.”
“Great. Now will you put it on?” He winked at her.
Lisa merely blinked. “Thorn, why are you doing this?”
“Why are you not?” At her stare, he went on. “How long has this office taken part in this silly December ritual? For years funny T-shirts the whole month of December is just a way to reinforce staff and customer participation. It’s good fun and clients love it. I admit, when my dad started this, I thought it was crazy too. Over the years it’s grown on me. I even incorporated the custom in the west coast office. They love it there as well. And if I remember correctly, you weren’t always this opposed to this.”
“Wow. You’re really into this. But remember, this wasn’t always a month-long ritual like you’re making it.”
“I am into it. It’s just good old-fashioned fun. A great way to open dialogue with old clients and generate new curious ones. So,” he took a deep breath, “ready to put one on?”
“How about if I think about it?”
“Unbelievable, Lisa. You’ve really hardened. What happened to your sense of fun? Did you ever have one? Cause I don’t remember this hard ass, grinchy attitude. It’s just a T-shirt.”
“I’ll put in on the back of my chair for now. I have a couple of clients coming in and maybe I’ll put it on then. Now, if that’s all…”
“That’s all,” he repeated. “I’ll leave you to it. See you later.” He snapped the door shut behind him.
She stared at the door. He doesn’t remember his faulty past. He forgets leaving me high and dry after he went to the West Coast. A few emails and calls then nothing for two and half years. The only news she got came through Mr. Abbott.
It’s not like he’s back for good. He’s only here to fill in while his mom and dad are away for the worst of the winter. He didn’t expect her to forget all that and pick up where they left off, did he? Men.
Her book looks fun, doesn’t it? Do check it out here.
AUTHOR Bio

How did all this begin for me?
Back in 2003, I belonged to an online writing group called, ‘From The Heart Romance Writers’. The group was so supportive, helpful, and taught me a lot. One day an editor from a publishing house spoke to us about the company and how they were actively seeking authors to write erotic romances. About 3 or 4 of us spoke up and said, “sure we can do that”. None of us ever had. The editor told us to send her whatever we had, even if it was just an idea. We did, and we all got contracts. That’s how I got my foot in the door.
Once I was established, I wanted to expand and try other genres, which the company gave me their approval. That’s when I started to dabble in sweet romances, spicy, a couple of young adults, non-fiction, and children’s books. In doing so, I found my milieu which is sweet, and sweet with a touch of spice.
Grinch Be A Lady is a sweet romance set in the Insurance business, and deals with the couple keeping their cancer diagnosis secret until after the holidays. To offset the seriousness of the subject, I threaded Christmas humor through the story to keep a balance. Grinch Be A Lady has some serious moments, emotional moments, funny moments, and a happy ever after.
