How do I unwind after a demanding day? This one is easy. If I don’t have the energy to read a book (and yes, sometimes I don’t!), movies are my main evening entertainment. Funnily, sometimes that just helps refill the creativity well. More often than not, we’ll just pick one to watch while we’re having dinner.

Obviously, with modern movies, this can be tricky. (Who wants to see bathroom humor while they’re eating? ewww… Or anytime, to be honest?)

Sometimes movies may inspire me: “What if I did what that xyz did, but in the Victorian era? Hmm…”

For our choices, they are eclectic. This month already we’ve watched all of the Star Wars trilogies–not gonna lie, I still dislike the prequels! Not to turn this into a movies blog, (although, why would it become that, when movies are just “visual stories” for lack of a better description). But since the beginning of the year, we’ve watched a movie (or series) a night. Some include, aside from the Star Wars trilogies….

A Small Light (series)

And as we were on a Bel Powley kick after watching A Small Light, we went seeking out some of her other movies and found:

Ashes in the Snow

Carrie Pilby (Which was a cute movie about a 20-something girl with rom-com vibes).

A Royal Night Out (this one was a cute Queen Elizabeth II as a teen, movie)

Detour ( Bel Powley was one of the main characters.) We also somehow found another movie with that exact title. Which was both slow but strangely compelling. We needed to find out if the main got out of his situation. I think it was an indie movie.

Elvis

Other movies we watched were:

The Artifice Girl (which reminded us of Ex Machina)

Colors of Love movie poster

Colors of Love (If I remember correctly, that was like a Hallmark Romance. Needless to say, I watched that one without my hubby).

That was all just in December and January. And this post is getting kinda long, so I’ll cut it off here. Maybe I’ll update this list again, at the end of the month with a Q1-part two movie list, if you want 😉 How do I remember what we watched? I keep a record of them in my journal.

So that’s what I do to unwind. How about you? If you watch movies, have you seen any good ones lately?
