I just finished Suzanne G. Rogers’ latest, witty historical romance, One Little Kiss, and so asked her to come visit us to tell us a little more about the book. Without further ado, here’s what she had to say. 🙂

Elevator Pitch: Sabrina meets Emma
Blurb: Charlotte promises her rakish neighbor a kiss if he will teach her awkward cousin how to waltz. Although she convinces herself the kiss will mean nothing, her feelings for the devilishly attractive baron begin to deepen…
Whenever I set out to write a new romance, I try to make the plot about more than just the traditional “No, no, no,” “Yes, yes, yes” clash seen in this memorable clip from Singing in the Rain.
In One Little Kiss, I delve into such issues as self-esteem, body image, fixed thinking, and unexpected attraction. Both the heroine, Charlotte, and the hero, Ridley, know so much about themselves that isn’t so.
Our heroine, Charlotte, is a planner and believes her life will unfold according to what she lays out in her journals — including marriage to her best friend, Rhys. When Charlotte’s cousin Lucy comes to stay, the neglected young woman is dreadfully unhappy about her appearance. Although Charlotte reassures the girl about her looks, she agrees to help Lucy improve her figure and learn the social graces that will allow her to move in society.
To that end, Charlotte enlists the help of her best friend’s elder brother, Jonathan Sandiford, otherwise known as Lord Ridley.
What Charlotte doesn’t realize, however, is how keen Ridley is to separate Charlotte from his brother, Rhys. He concocts a scheme of his own to woo Charlotte away using a scandalous proposition; he will help her cousin if Charlotte agrees to give him a kiss at a time and place of his choosing. Ridley has no intention of collecting his prize, naturally. Indeed, he believes he can fob Charlotte off onto one of his single friends when the time comes.
Unfortunately for Charlotte and Ridley, neither one makes allowances for the vagaries of the human heart.
Can our heroine steel herself against the confirmed bachelor, or will her impulsive bargain lead to romantic disaster?
I hope so, don’t you? Thanks, Suzanne, for being here. Folks, do check out One Little Kiss! It’s available at Amazon and wherever ebooks are sold HERE.
