Did my writing go by the wayside this week? Sunday Update #blogger
Summer has crept in more like a lion than anything. It didn't help that …did I mention this last week? No? After working in the yard last weekend, my back reacted, and not in a good way.

Yep. I'm in pain again. And what do you really want to do when the heat index outside is 100°? Use a heating pad. *rolls eyes* Yah!
So, did my writing go by the wayside?
That doesn't mean I did nothing. I managed to edit another few chapters in the follow-up to sweet Victorian romance Letters to Ellie. Getting closer! *rubs hands* I only have about 75 pages to go. But I hit a snag that can only be untangled by sitting at the computer, and I couldn't do that for long stretches of time, this week.
Stay tuned. Meanwhile, I'm thinking up the idea of a new lead magnet. Not too hard, but it puts another thing to write on my plate. You may think “well, you're a writer”. But what it really does (and why I've cut back on writing shorter) is place yet another story in the way of doing my main work: writing novels. As I've said before, writing in my genre, especially novel length stuff, takes time. So, I'm just jotting ideas down, right now, to tackle when this round of editing of the next Lost Slipper Society novel is finished.
Watching:
We watched The Boroughs this week–and loved it. Yes, it's Stranger Things in a retirement community, so what? But if you keep your eyes peeled, you might notice some neat pop culture Easter eggs in it. Or, at least, we did. Kind of reminds me of Cocoon. We enjoyed it, anyway. Have you seen it? What did you think of it?
Blog stuff:
What I still didn't find out is a better system for my blog subscriptions. Best I can figure is to use my Kit newsletter. If you’d like to, you can join it here.
And I cleaned up a few things on my main website. Something went wonky on the main page that I can’t figure out. I have my tech bro checking it out (my literal little brother! :)). Between the two of us, we should be able to find the problem. Everything works, it's just got a slider bar cross-browsers that wasn't there last week. I don’t know what I did. But hey, I got the link to my Facebook page fixed.
Reading. I'm still reading the Thelonious Monk book (Thelonius Monk: Life and Times of an American Original) by Robin D. G. Kelley), and 100 Years of Solitude. Slow reads, the both of them. But interesting! And I re-read a novella by Caroline Clemmons (Bride's Adventure).
Currently listening to: Cookin’ with Miles Davis and quite a few more. Lady in Satin (and a few more) by Billie Holiday, Birth of The Cool by Miles Davis, King Kong by Jean Luc Ponty, I Heard You Twice the First Time by Branford Marsalis (Love the song Mabel--John Lee Hooker makes that song. :) He was always so cool. 😎 🎸
