Sunday post for a working holiday
STATE OF THE BLOG: EXCUSE MY DUST
I'm back!!! Sorta. I've been rebuilding my site and blog. The blog is the curious thing. If you poke around a bit, you'll see it looks a bit incomplete. I've moved my site to a new host, opened a store (see it here, if you like), and added a blog. It looks and feels sort of like Google Docs, and less like blogger/wordpress.com that I've been used to all these years. So I'm "Sciencing the s*** out of it" (to quote The Martian). :)
No sidebar, alas. But I got the pinterest widgets to work. (I think.) There are a couple other little things that I haven't deciphered answers to yet. Like, how to set up a true way for you to follow this blog and get the posts in your email. Because apparently right now, you can only do that by either a) subscribing to my newsletter which will get you all the info about my writing career and not the blog posts (or at least not just my blog posts.) or you can ... watch out for my posts on social media.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm working on some workarounds, like it's 1999. :)
STATE OF MY WRITING
But I did manage to get some writing done. We're halfway-ish through my latest revision of the follow-up to Letters to Ellie. I'm afraid to say when that will be done. I'll keep you posted. Meanwhile, this is day two of the Yolo with Kobo event. My book, Vesta's Clockwork Companions is involved. If you read my latest newsletter, you know I bought a Kobo recently. What do I think? Short answer: I'm enjoying using it, though I do still have a bunch of books on my Kindle. (*grumble*) Check out Yolo With Kobo here:
State of my reading
I am 60ish pages into 100 Years of Solitude and enjoying it. We saw the series on Netflix a few months ago and were knocked out by it. :) So naturally, we had to go read the book. What do I think so far? It's a dense text, lyrical. It's not a fast read, but like I said, I'm enjoying the story so far.
What's on the blog from this last week? My first few posts (at least, the first few at the new home):
Book Hooks for May 20: Speaking of Tales
Anyway, I guess that's the extent of my news, this week.
How has your week gone?
