I just found this lovely quote on the Tome Tender blog:
Review: “(In Druid Defiance) Ms. Revezzo has added another great tale to this series and shored up each character with more depth. In the battle of good versus evil, who will win, the forces of darkness or the Steward who could go Bridezilla on them all?” 5 Stars ~Dii, Tome Tender.
Thank you, Dii! 🙂
If you’d like to check Druid Defiance out, of course, it is (along with the entire series and related books) available at Amazon. I hope y’all will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
Yes, the sixth story in the Antique Magic series just sort of (and sort of not) came out of the blue.
(Before you ask, no, this isn’t the book I was yakking about writing all last month. This is–what started out as–a flash fiction piece that I wrote for an indie blog hop last year. I took it, this year and reworked it into a longer edition which is what’s now available for download. It’s called A Light Yule Problem, and the synopsis is as follows:
The holidays are approaching, the busiest time of the year for Caitlin and Trevor’s antique store. Their goals for the solstice are set and they’re looking forward to a quiet break, if only the enchanted things in their shop, and of the Otherworld will let them have it. Sometimes Christmas really does bring magic! But what kind is it, this time?
If you’d like to check it out, it’s available at several e-retailers for free, via Smashwords for free during their year end sale, and I’ve put it on sale via draft2digital at Barnes and Noble, Kobo, and it should be up at Itunes shortly (I hope). You can find all those at this link.
Or if you’d like to support the author with a few pennies Amazon tosses her way, Amazon hasn’t price-matched it so it’s $.99 there. It’s just a little short that I hope you might enjoy. Have a wonderful Yule and Christmas!
Congrats! You did the hard part of putting your butt in the chair, your fingers on the keyboard and kept them there consistently, day in day out, for a whole month. And now you have a full manuscript. That’s awesome! Good job.
Or maybe you find you are approaching a full manuscript, but haven’t finished and you’re thinking “Uh oh! I didn’t finish my project during Nanowrimo. Now what?”
This is the tough part. Because the problem with Nanowrimo is it can make you feel like a real winner, if you manage to put that 50,000 words into their site, but it can make you feel like a real loser if you hit only 30 or 40k. Or if you hit 50k and haven’t finished your story because it’s just not done or you hit some wall in the plot you can’t figure a way around. This is where most Nano-ers stop writing in despair.
But the cool part of being a writer is, if you are a writer and not just a dabbler, you take a breath, and get back into the fray and finish the darned thing. Because if you’re a writer, you’re going to write. There are no two ways about it.
And…. finally, just to wrap up the month, I put my final tally of AM6 in last night and (apparently, my math sucks or I forgot a day’s posting to the actual Nano site!) My final word count for the month according to their calculations was 59,819.
Nearly 60k. (The completist in me wishes I could’ve pushed it over to a round 60k!) The book isn’t finished yet. Almost, but not quite. Still, it’s better than what I had at the beginning of the month and a semblance of something I think fans of that series are going to like! As it stands, it’s not ready to release yet, but stay tuned (or join my newsletter!) for news of its release.
Almost there! Must keep writing, must keep writing. ✍
See this? I am also floored I have managed to put this much more into this book ( Yes, I said more. I’m using this Nanowrimo to finish this book!)
This is also why I haven’t been providing my Nano updates lately. The latest Antique Magic storyline has been grabbing me by the hair and dragging me into Word doc battle first thing every morning. I thought it would take only 30,000 words to finish the book, if that but oh no! Caitlin keeps talking. 😄
How are your projects progressing this week? We’re past the halfway point. Keep writing!!
We had a storm here, the other day, so I’ve since spent the time catching up.
I caught this little guy changing “clothes” before the storm.
Guess he needed a new raincoat before the storm. 🌧 Oh, that teasing Eta! The power flickered a bit but we never lost it and we weren’t affected by the tornado warnings. I even managed to get a newsletter out, put my Frigga’s Lost Army on sale for Veterans day, and get my word count in for the day, between being glued to the weather reports.🌧☔
For the aforementioned sale of Frigga, if you get it from Smashwords, use the code YF69P at checkout for 67% off (Offer good through Nov. 14, 2020 ). If you get it from Amazon, you don’t need a code.
How are your projects going? For me, my total Nano word count thus far is… not quite 25k. I should pass that today, though. I hope y’all are doing well.
