JOURNEY OF THE MAGI by Barbara Edwards tells a slightly different Christmas tale than you might be thinking, just on a glance at the title. In this story, widowed Noel Martin shows up in a Minnesota diner seeking shelter from a winter storm. The diner’s owner, Dan Longstreet, offers she and her children a meal and a place to sleep that night. Noel piques Dan’s interest and when she asks for a job, he gives her one.

Noel has promised to get her children home to Connecticut for Christmas, and so doesn’t plan on staying in town more than a week. But something about Dan warms the widow inside and she finds herself falling in love with him. When a snowplow driver wrecks her car, she has no choice but to stay longer. Christmas is nigh, will Noel decide to accept the gift of Dan’s love, or will she keep to her plan and head off for her home, as she planned?

In JOURNEY OF THE MAGI, Barbara Edwards has penned a short, sweet Christmas novella of family and romance that moves along at a nice clip. I think fans of holiday romances will enjoy it. I know I did.
