Good morning, all.
To the gals that sent me this meme, I’m sorry this is late. The thing is,I’ve gotten at least three of these this week and I’m sure my poor readers don’t want that kind of repetition. So here we go. Next Big Thing post two: The WIP.
This one’s from Celia Breslin
What is your working title of your book?
My title is The Wedding list.
Where did the idea come from for the book?
A call for submissions which I missed, and a Kate Bush song.
What genre does your book fall under?
At the moment, epic fantasy.
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Have no idea.
What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
It’s too early to say: A guy and a girl do some stuff. Or less cheeky answer, a baker and a musician are trying to get a spot in the princess’s wedding entourage.
Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
Don’t know yet. Could go either way depending on a lot of things.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
I’m still working on it. Thus far, I started it in July and put it aside until just two weeks ago. So…maybe four weeks all told?
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
I have no idea yet. Baker’s Boy by J.V. Jones jumps to mind but only because of the occupation of the heroine, with maybe a dash of Susan Krinard.
Who or what inspired you to write this book?
The Kate Bush song The Wedding List.
What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
Heck at this point, I don’t even know if it’s going to keep my interest let alone anyone else’s. 😉 But I intend it to be a rip-roaring story of magic and mayhem as usual. Stay tuned. Who knows whether or not it’ll make that coveted manuscript length at this point. Don’t you just hate WsIp sometimes? 😉
As for my tags, let’s see. Laura Yirak (who tagged me for another one), S.G. Rogers, and Calisa Rhose, and Celia Breslin.
